Carbon Resistor used for Guitar Treble Bleed

The "carbon resistor" for a treble bleed circuit typically refers to a Carbon Film Resistor. While they work perfectly
well for this application, they are often compared to the more modern Metal Film Resistor. Resistor (
Carbon Film):
This component's primary function is to tame the treble that the capacitor allows through. Without it, the tone can
become excessively bright or "ice-picky" at low volumes. It also helps to smooth out the volume pot's taper.

Capacitor: Allows the high frequencies to bypass the volume pot's internal resistance.
