SSS Stratocaster Pickguard 60's to 65's - Cream 3-Ply - (11-Hole) Fit U
A Stratocaster pickguard is a key component of the Fender Stratocaster electric guitar, serving both a functional and aesthetic purpose.
- Protection (Scratchplate): Its primary function is to protect the guitar's finish from being scratched by a pick or fingernails during playing.
- Electronics Mounting: On a Stratocaster (and other front-routed Fender-style guitars), the pickguard is where most of the electronics are mounted. This typically includes:
- Pickups: The single-coil (or humbucking) pickups are usually screwed directly to the pickguard.
- Controls: The volume and tone potentiometers (pots) and the pickup selector switch are secured to the underside of the guard.
- Wiring: The wiring harness connects all these components behind the pickguard.
- Aesthetics: The pickguard's color, ply, and material are a major part of the Stratocaster's visual identity, often contrasting with the body color.Note: If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return it.
